Good evening. I hope whenever and wherever you are reading this, you are cozy and contented. And not experiencing a great deal of soreness in the arm from holding a blade out in front of you, a great soreness in the thighs from standing in a squat for over 40 minutes, and a great soreness in the chest from being stabbed with a blunt blade again and again.
I say this from experience.
As mentioned in previous correspondence, I started fencing. And as much as I gripe and grow, it has truly been very good for me. It keeps me active, it keeps me sharp, and it keeps me social. I am back so late tonight because a friend invited me to go to this dorm event with them after fencing. He invited me and another kid in the class, whom I did not know too well. Let me tell you, it was just lovely. Both super cool and chill people. Folks who are as nerdy as I am. We talked about anime and jazz and school and interests. Strangely enough. I have found better friends and a better sense of community in the fencing club than in anything else I've done so far at this campus.
Who would have thought?
Not I.
That's all for this busy day. Goodnight all,
Calvin Landreth
