Week-14

8/16/2026 Week 14:

Hellow freinds. This is it. Where my summer comes to an end. Right here, right now. 

I'm sitting now in Calvin's Dorm 2.0. Yet whether it's an upgrade is up for debate. 

I moved in yesterday, August 15. The week before was nothing but upset tummies waiting in lonely chairs for this day to come. And it came. And now it's passed. 

The largest tragedy of move-in is my one true couchy love. It could not make it to its designated spot in my room. This old building I'm in just wasn't built for it. By that I mean the door was just a hair too small. So instead of making the bone-chilling couch decent back down the narrowest 6 flights of stairs you've ever seen. We moved a chair that was in the common space and plopped it behind the door. 

Ohhh yeahhhhhh, shared space. Who am I sharing it with? Well, I didn't know either until around 10. He was late moving in. He came from Utah. Drove from Utah. A wild 36 hours. I guess that's just the kind of thing you do when you are 7 years my senior. That being said, in the few conversations we have had (we have been just missing each other at every turn), he seems like a real big chiller. I'm excited to get to know him more. 

That leads us to today. 

Productive, yes. 

Silly, yes. 

Lonely, no. 

I met/talked to all the faves today, including some new ones. 

I was asked by an ex of a friend if I could help a friend of hers who is going here get her bearings (wolf, convoluted sentence award goes to me).

I happily obliged, and we met so I could show her the campus and her classes. It went really well, other than the fact that I thought I was about to kill her. 

Her class schedule took us from one end of campus to the other, and in 97-degree heat in hilly little Columbia, that sure ain't something you want to do. 

But we made it, and she asked if I could walk with her to CVS tomorrow, so all is well. 

Well, I will see you folks again Tuesday for the triumphant return of CALVINS CC!. I hope you enjoy your Monday off as well as I am about to. The more undeserved, the better!  

It's been a nice summer.
